This design challenge included fitting a pool on a steep slope and creating useable spaces around it.  Linking those spaces was also important.  Rock retaining walls and boulders were used extensively to over come the slope.  These elements were also vital to the creation of terraces and planting spaces throughout.  The naturalistic style pool was created with a curvilinear shape, rock coping, and a black bottom.

Vegetation in adjacent planters adds to the 'pond' feel and provides color and textural interest.  A 'creek' starts as a 'spring' at the top of a series of waterfalls and ultimately drops into the pool adjacent to a rock terrace.  Additional terrace space provides room for entertaining or simply enjoying the beauty of this mountaintop location.
